Re-Discovering The Female Heart

What is a Female Heart? Is it simply as it was said? Does it mean more?  That is actually the questions in my head when I was able to see the media preview of Linda Faigao's The Female Heart that UP Playwright staged from July 1 to July 10 at the Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero Theater at the University of the Philippines Diliman. Also being the directional debut of Banaue Miclat-Janssen  of UPPT which is also her silver year in the theater industry.  Premise:  Set in the late 1980's the play follows Adelfa (played by Chase Salazar) and her elder brother Anghel's (Played by Al Gatmaitan) struggle as resident of the infamous mountain of garbage popularly known as Smokey Mountain. Last Friday, I was invited to watch a musical.  I was really interested in watching musicals because I was part of one a long time ago. I didn't really do anything but help out with production and make up then. I liked the feeling of seeing a piece of art come to life when you are part of its process.  Last Friday I came and watched Marco Polo: An Untold Love Story.
