Back From Square One

Its been a while and I don't know where to start. I'm back at square one.  I started this blog as a way to express myself...but along the way I just stopped.  Maybe because of the views, maybe because of the stress of being an adult. Maybe...just maybe I got tired of it all.  But now that I am back to square one with little savings, a lot of time due to unemployment and thoughts I can't get out I think this is the right time to start over.  So if you are new to this page, Hi My name is Alice and welcome back to my blog.  I'll try to update as much as possible on this side of the internet with little snippets of my life, maybe some reviews and possibly a lot more.  If you would like to join the journey, you are welcome to do so. I'd love to have new company over.  See you on the flip side my loves.  Much Love,  xx Alice

Dream Scents By Urbanhue's First Date Review

Image
Third day in the row baby! I know, right? I have got it on girl so watch out! Today's product to review is Dream Scents by Urbanhue First Date! This is actually the very first one I bought from them!  First Date is a Chypre Floral Fragrance that gives a very fresh and clean perfume which is perfect for first impressions.  One of the things I do notice about a person is their scent and definitely if you use amazing perfume - I like you already!  I do like this scent though on the initial spray it would have a strong antiseptic wiff to it but the longer it is to the skin develops into a light floral that smells very clean and lady like. Projection is good though the lasting power is a bit weaker than warm nights.  Compared to Warm Nights, this one you may over spray though when I over spray on this on a warm day makes the scent evolve to like an alcohol scent which is no bueno.  Overall I love this scent though I would not recommend this to anyone. If you a...

Here We Go Again!

Image
As a new year starts we start to have the usual *New Year's Resolutions* spiel all over again and I will be honest - I don't want to do that this year.  Call me a pessimist but I just find it bothersome to create a list of things I want to do but yet by the second week of the year I would just forget no matter how many reminders I put it on my google calendar.  So this year I won't do that. I won't make a New Year's Resolution - I'll just start doing what I want without setting myself for failure by putting myself into unrealistic standards.  Starting with this blog.  I know I promised that I will start blogging again but here we are mid January with my first post - ugh girl why? LIFE HAPPENED that's why.  I do promise to make sure to update my blog every single time I have the time to do so because right now with my whole schedule packed like a last minute road trip overnight bag the only luxury I have is sleep which I only get roughly 5 hours at best....

What Working Again in a company feels like

Because of this whole pandemic it got me thinking again of what matters the most to me. I was not getting any younger and pursuing blogging full time and attending events just to earn some brownie points wasn't really cutting it in for me.  Believe me I loved that side of being a content creator but there is also a side I wasn't really fond of - the back breaking tasks of editing, conceptualizing, posting deliverables and waiting to get paid. The amount of effort I put out doesn't really pay the bills if I can be completely honest.  I remember one of my lowest point was being offered to ghost write another blog and I would potentially get paid by the amount of views or comments like what the actual crap was that?! I had to decline that offer because I don't really like to put a price on the articles I put out.  I love how some of you would be so happy and inspired after reading a post and message me about your insights about it. Believe me I respond so fast in those...

Run Free My Sweet Rocky

Image
Honestly the last time I felt this much pain from a loss was a decade ago- and last Monday it came back.  I wasn't able to introduce Rocky on my blog formally because..well..I did that on my youtube channel. I should've done that honestly because Rocky has made a huge impact on my life that I wasn't able to share to anyone.

When Will My Life Begin (Again) ?

While writing this article I am blasting When My Life Begin at 1AM as if giving me the creative powers I need. Call me childish but blasting Disney songs while writing does give me that boost I need. And this song actually speaks a lot about my life right now and also the global pandemic. We are under another GCQ which is now less restrictive (I Guess) but still has those limitations that we had been enjoying since December.

Missing My Mojo

For the past couple of months - or you can say years rather, I had lost the ability to write my feelings again. I honestly craved just having that creative flow through my veins and just write until I can't write no more.

Day 1 of the challenge!

Honestly doing this challenge is a big step because I know I might fuck up (and yes I am not afraid to say it) because I know to myself that I easily get bored of doing 30 day challenges but I want to do this because of the following: 1. For instilling discipline in myself. I am not a person who likes routines, but in my age I.FREAKIN,NEED.TO.HAVE.IT! I know I have to determination to stick to this so that is why I am challenging myself further of posting daily compared to before.  2. To be accountable for my actions.  Don't get me wrong in this, but whenever I make a promise to myself I stick to it like super glue because I know that if I break that it will just make me fall further down the line. I need to be accountable for my actions and my decisions so I will do this challenge and possibly continue doing it more.  3. I want to have something to read back.  Later on I know I will go back to my previous posts to be able to see how much I hav...

New Beginnings and Bitter Goodbyes

Image
If you have noticed it YES! I finally changed this blog's interface! after so many freakin' years I have decided to yes - just scrap the whole format I had before and start fresh. Why? I just decided to keep everything clean and minimal for now. I am not really sure yet where to go from here. I had a very interesting conversation a couple of days ago with a friend over some cocktails about life. I am not really into talking deep about my feelings to anyone - but somehow it was just right. We had a conversation about how my life could've been if I didn't left my job as a teacher, would I be where I am now if I didn't taken the leap of faith? My friend said it was the best thing I could've done in my life. Not that I hated my job as a teacher because I loved every second of it...I didn't really felt that I fulfilled my purpose even if I have loved my job. I felt I was stuck in that place teaching kids over and over then looking over the brightly l...
