Be a Goddess with Jill Ngo and the Goddesses of Belly Dancing

Sidenote:
Internet connection lately has been awry so this post was really really really late. But still I will be uploading new articles soon so please understand -_- I deeply apologize again.

Belly dancing is one of those dances that would amaze you because the body is like water when you see it move.

I am not a dancer in any way although I did try to be a ballerina when I was younger. So trying a new form of dance is something I can check off my list.

The simple get together was held at Footworks Dance Studio. I was a bit late since most of the girls have done the pep talk and the initial stretching has started.

Did I tell you guys that stretching is one of the most basic things you need to do in any form of dance and belly dancing hs more focused on the area that is not highlighted on other dances which is our core area. So imagine the horror in my face doing those stretching positions but luckily I pulled through haha!

The next part was learning some moves. Its not like the simple wiggle to the side. Ms. Jill actually taught us 'isolation' from our upper body to the hips and vice versa. Its hard to explain and also to show you guys. But if you have a very imaginative brain or you have tried Belly dancing you would know what I'm talking about.

There is also a trick she taught us which is the Goddess posture which makes us look taller. It actually is called "lengthening" which is also used by some pageant contestants and models to make themselves look taller even though they already are (I'm not bitter I swear)

Beyond from the dance lesson, Ms. Jill also shared to us that Belly Dancing is not just a simple dance but more of an empowerment for women. If you think about it Belly dancers around the world are revered not just because of their bodies but of how much of a good performer they are to any crowd.

Belly Dancing also is a way to give us confidence no matter what size we are. Because lets be honest, most of us don't dance not because we don't know how to but because we are afraid what we look like doing it.

By the end of the exercise, we were surprised because three of the members of Goddesses of Belly dance performed for us. It was an amazing performance and watching it live really convinces you that our body is really flexible no matter what age you are.

Speaking of Goddesses of Belly dance, they are the largest and most in-demand professional belly dance group in the country led by no other than the gorgeous and Chief Goddess herself, Ms. Jill Ngo-Crisologo who is also a certified Zumba and Pilates instructor.

Me looking as awkward as possible with this pose but what the heck LOL
Ms. Jill also offers a transformation package that is tailored fit for brides-to-be who wants to look like Aphrodite on her special day - don't deny, I've heard it several times.

So if you want to be a Goddess for a day or have the Goddesses of Belly

Also Ms. Jill has belly dance classes at Footworks dance studio every Monday at 7PM so make sure to book your class this Summer!
