On Reading Porn

Admit it. You got tempted on the title didn't you?



Porn is a short term of Pornography which according to Wikipedia is thew portrayal of a sexual subject matter for the purpose of sexual arousal.

What irks my mind the most though is why do people treat this as an immoral thing to do?

I know that my question may sound weird and the answer is obvious but honestly, there can be a myriad ways to answer this question - if you are open minded.

I remember having this discussion with my friend the other day, and as the middle-of-the-road thinker that I am I exactly know that she will answer that its immoral to watch something that is supposed to be for couples. I answered back by saying, so watching a couple do PDA (overly touching kind) is the same thing as watching or reading porn?

That left her speechless.

I know that it is immoral, I studied in schools that value religion as being an integral part of growing up of a child, but realistically saying if we don't expose them to reality (i.e. SEX) what would happen to them?

Teen age pregnancy is widespread now. Casual sex is just the same. It really boggles me that these are considered okay but reading or watching porn is considered dirty. Like WHY?

And I would admit that I read erotica and also some that has heavy sexual content articles because the writing style is different. I feel that its more personal when a writer makes an erotic story, or maybe they have really wild imagination.

So here is my question for you guys and girls:

1. Do you think Porn is bad/immoral?

And

2. Why?

Personally, I don't think porn is bad to watch or to read - its the action that people do after and also the lack of knowledge about sex is what makes it bad. If others just have the right information about sex and also being safe in not getting pregnant or getting STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) that would be great.
