How to prepare for the unexpected

From source

It has been raining for the past week or so. But tonight's downpour was one of the strongest.

And in this time of danger we need to be prepared. One thing I have learned as a Filipino is that if the weather doesn't change within the next hour - cancel everything you have to do outside. Its better to be safe and dry at home than your life being in danger outside.

Here are some things you can do when the unexpected happens:

1. Keep candles, flash lights, and emergency lights handy in case the lights go out.

2. Invest on a good portable radio - You can use this to know what is happening even if the lights are out.

3. Have a spare battery for your cellphone and also have more than enough credits on your phone in case you need to call or text anyone for emergency.

4. Keep ready to eat food on standby so that even if the electricity is down you can still have food ready.

5. Keep important documents like birth certificates, bank statements, and other important papers on a big zip lock bag.

6. Have your first aid kit ready with the necessary medicine.

7. Have bottled water handy at all times. If you don't have bottled water, you can still drink tap water but you have to boil it first so that the bacteria will be killed.

8. Have a 72 hour emergency kit that consists of extra clothes, medicine, important documents, food, flashlights and a first aid kit good for three days.

Always keep safe my dearies!  I hope these will be really helpful for you all!

Much Love and Keep Safe!
